Founded in 1902, the East Kent Art Society is one of the most esteemed art exhibiting organisations in East Kent. Each artist is carefully elected through a selection process that includes professional artists, educators, and skilled amateurs. This ensures a diverse range of high-quality artwork at our Annual Exhibition and other exhibitions throughout the year.
Our exhibitions take place at the St Mary's Art Centre in Sandwich, although we have also showcased our members' work at notable venues such as the Beaney House of Art & Knowledge and the Sidney Cooper Gallery in Canterbury, as well as various locations across East Kent.
We are committed to celebrating artistic talent and embracing current trends, and we actively encourage accomplished artists to join our community.
Those interested in becoming members are invited to submit four images or sculptures, typically around April each year. Applications can be directed to our Committee via info@eastkentartsociety.co.uk, for further information.
Membership is granted upon approval from the selection committee, which comprises professional artists, educators, and current members of the society.
