I have been concentrating on my art since retiring early in 2018. I followed my parents advice to go and get a "real job" after college (their words) rather than go to art college (which is what I should have done). I now have the luxury of time to enjoy it without the pressure to make a living - so I am somewhat grateful to them.
My influences are Hazel Soan, Angela Malone and Peter Livesey. I've been privileged to paint with and learn from them.
I am still exploring different mediums and subject matter, but was flattered to win the "People's Choice" prize for my drawing of The Major Oak, at the Turner Fringe in Margate in 2018. I have had work on display locally at Lovelys and Eclectic Art Gallery in Margate. I have sold a number of originals, cards and prints and I am delighted to be accepted to EKAS so that I can show my work to more people.
